2. Junior Cricket Code of Conduct


CODE OF CONDUCT FOR JUNIOR PLAYERS

It is a condition of membership that SMCC Players are required to abide by the provisions of this code of conduct and any further updates from time to time.

Your conduct is a reflection, not only of yourself, but also of the club. Conduct which damages the reputation of the club will not be tolerated. Breaches of this code may result in disciplinary action being taken. This code applies to Junior Members (Under 16.) Those aged 13 or over may from time to time play in Open Age Cricket. Therefore that should also be familiar with the Senior Cricket Code of Conduct

You are expected to:

  • Treat others as you would expect to be treated yourself. Respect fellow members, staff, coaches, officials, opposing players and spectators.
  • Look after club equipment and facilities as if it were your own.
  • Encourage your team mates.
  • Accept the umpire’s decisions and do not show dissent.
  • Arrive at matches and events on time and inform parents or guardians who can then contact the coach if unable to meet at the agreed time.
  • Listen to and take notice of guidance and instructions given by coaches and managers.
  • Accept victory and defeat with grace and dignity.
  • Do not engage in crude, abusive or sledging of other players or officials, both verbally or using abusive gestures.
  • IDo not engage in verbal or physical abuse or hostility to other players or members of the public.
  • All players (under 18) must wear a helmet at all times when batting and when standing up to the stumps as a wicket keeper.

Any member wishing to raise a concern regarding breaches of this code, should raise it with the team coach, or club officers.
