CODE OF CONDUCT FOR SENIOR PLAYERS

It is a condition of membership that SMCC Players are required to abide by the provisions of this code of conduct and any further updates from time to time.

Your conduct is a reflection, not only of yourself, but also of the club. Conduct which damages the reputation of the club will not be tolerated. Breaches of this code may result in disciplinary action being taken. This code applies to Senior Members (16 & over) and anyone participating in Open Age Cricket.

Selection:
• Selection for Senior Matches will take place on the Tuesday evening, preceeding the fixture. It is the responsibility of the player to ensure that the captain is aware of their availability
• Players are expected to be available for selection for all SMCC matches on a given day. Restricting availability to certain teams is not acceptable other than in exceptional circumstances
• Players with outstanding debts will not be considered for selection.

Match Day Protocols:

The Club adopts the ECB General Conduct Regulations for Recreational Cricket and will impose sanctions aligned to this policy, where breaches of either this code or conduct regulations are reported and proven

The conduct of our opposition is outside of our control and is not a valid reason for our own conduct standards to fall below these expected standards. Team captains will be aware of the appropriate processes to raise conduct issues relating to our opponents.

Any member wishing to raise a concern regarding breaches of this code, should raise it with the team captain, or club officers.
