7. Defence


Linebackers defend against the pass, and push forward to stop the run or tackle the QB.

The defensive line (comprising of defensive ends and defensive tackles) battles head-to-head against the offensive line in attempt to get to the ball carrier. Linemen, whether offensive or defensive, have to be the toughest guys on the field, as they have the most physically demanding roles.

Cornerbacks and safeties defend against the pass from the QB to the wide receiver and help to stop the run. They have to be fast enough to keep up with wide receivers, but strong enough to assist the rest of the D with stopping the run!
