Joe Broughton is the specialised ‘Jonty Rhodes’ of Rufforth cricket club. He is a first class fielder with the ability to pitch in with the odd single figure score here or there.He is a fans favourite nicknamed Ginger Joe by certain members of the travelling RCC Barmy Army.
In 2010 he broke the World Record for throwing a cricket ball the furthest distance in a match with a remarkable 110metres, a throw which went for six overthrows.
