Biography

Cameron Sanderson is the son of Rufforth legend Robbie Sanderson and a part-time all-rounder.

Sanderson has developed an ability to bowl fast and full whilst also being a batsman that can hit the ball a long way.

The broad Yorkshireman vice-captained the 1st XI in 2011 but was removed from the role after poor results and a lack of credibility amongst other players.

The talented sportsman has recenly taken up golf and said he believed he had the same ability as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

He said: "I'm been making major strides with my golf. I firmly believe I have a major in me.

"I managed to knock a few shots off my average round the other day and I will be hoping to finally capture a 36 handicap by the end of June.

"I am finding less bunkers and I am finding the water less.

Because of his new found love for golf, Sanderson is a doubt for Rufforth in 2012 and may only make himself available for a few fixtures.

Captain Jack Doyle said: "It's not a great loss."
