Biography

Ben Lodge is a stump sized debatable wicket-keeper batsman.

He was a product of the Acomb academy before being thrown out of the club for being too small in 2006 and eventually agreed terms to play for Rufforth after taking growth hormone tablets.

The stumper has been nominated for the Wetherby League Worst Sledger of the Year award four years running. Despite being the only nomination on the list he has never recieved the award.

Lodge has an addiction to fizzy drinks and in 2010 the York Press reported he had spent £3,000 to replace all his teeth.

Somehow, Lodge evetually broke into the Rufforth first team. Eve more surprising, Lodge was made first team skipper for the 2013 season.

He said: "It’s a fairytale story like. It’s like when that jockey won the Grand National on an unfancied horse like.

"It’s a dream come true. Big Ben has arrived in Rufforth and it’s time to do business,"
