This weekend brings along the final round of matches of the 2023/4 season and for the Withies it’s a visit from North Tawton to Raleigh Park.
With a season that’s been very much one of two halves with injuries to a number of key players having a tough knock-on effect to the season, thankfully with the weeks progressing we’re gradually rebuilding with more players returning to the squad, a much-needed win is hopefully around the corner!
Tomorrow’s result will also shape our route in the post-season cup run. A win tomorrow sees us play in a two-leg semi final against Exeter Saracens. A loss would set up a couple more play dates with Torquay. Either way, it’s another game at Raleigh Park next weekend, so clear your diaries!
Back to tomorrow and our visitors, North Tawton have also experienced a tricky season, most recently losing 31-5 away in South Molton, currently placing the team 11th in the league standings.
On a head-to-head basis, in our five games against one another, Withies have been winners on four occasions, including our 10-36 victory at Tawmeadows in round one.
Our fifth game resulted in a 12-12 draw a couple seasons ago.
Despite their record, Withies still are very much aware of the threat posed by our opponents and can be ready to expect a tricky challenge. We are expecting a cracking game, so don’t miss out on the action!
The game kicks off at 2:30pm at Raleigh Park and - for once - we’ve got dry weather in the forecast!! The clubhouse is open from 1pm and after the game we’ve got live music from 90s Indie & Britpop band, Phase 90 so make sure you hang around for a full afternoon and evening of entertainment at your community club!
