Before we announce our club awards we would like to thank all our players, parents and supporters who attended with over 800 people attending throughout the day. It was great to see our sister club 5 Ways Netball attend for the first time since the 2020 COVID restrictions. A great community feel about the day!

We would also like to thank at Siena Pizza Co for serving freshly made pizzas and Cups Coffee Van for serving their great refreshments.

The football activities on the 3G went down well including bubble football, dart football and target football.

This is our main fundraising day and whilst we are still doing the accounts, early indications are that we had a good day! So thank you to all who supported our fundraising raffle, silent auction, WIthdean Bar and activities.

Special mention Brighton & Hove Albin players Solly March, Danny Welbeck and Lewis Dunk who donated signed boots to support this years fundraising. A whopping £900 was raised in the silent auction.

CLUB NEWS
As usual the club would like to thank a number of people and other organisations that help make this club run successfully.

Firstly, thank you to Fabrice Retkowsky our Club Secretary. He does so much behind the scenes.

Ben Lewis (our fantastic Head Coach) & Vice-Chair) and 5 Ways Soccer. We are proud to be linked with 5 Ways Soccer and cannot thank Ben enough for his support to Withdean Youth. Ben undertakes so many roles at the club from supporting the coaches to allocating the home pitches. Thank you, Ben!

Matt Evans and Brighton Galaxy Girls Football Academy. Matt has been a great addition to our committee and heads up our girls section. Thanks Matt for helping us managing our girls section. A record 12 girls teams this season and even more next season. A real asset to the club!

We have an army of volunteers here at Withdean and we thank all of them for the unconditional support. This includes our Fixture Secretaries (Nina, Nikki, Ivan, Karina & Anita), our Child Welfare Officer Marie Harris, our Treasurer Chris Kyffin-Walton, our Registrations Secretary Becky Fuller, our Finance Manager Stuart Collie , Natasha & Martin Paling who make our end of season day so special. We also welcomed Princess & Simon Winter to the committee this season.

2022/23 CLUB AWARDS
At the end of every season, we announce the winners of three club awards namely the Club Person of the Year, the Boys Team of the Year and the Girls Team of the Year.

Hugh Gosney Trophy - Club Person of the Year - we are delighted to present Becky Fuller our Registrations Secretary with the award this season. Becky registers all players (around 500) deals with transfer in and out of the club throughout the season and ensures that fees are paid as part of the registration process. Becky is an unsung hero who does most of her work by stealth (under the radar!). Congratulations!

Boys Team of the Year - awarded to Martin Paling & John Sutton and our U16 boys. They were County Cup finalists where they were runners up to Hastings. Congratulations!

Girls Team of the Year - awarded to Chris Kyffin-Walton and our U15 girls.They had a fantastic season and were finalists in the County Cup where they were runners up to Worthing. However, they won the League Cup and they were champions in the U15 Girls Premier Division. Congratulations!
