The new season started this weekend but one familiar face was missing. Unfortunately the 80 mile round trip had become too much for Sam Jackson and he will no longer be pulling on his gloves for the team.

The whole club is grateful for his service over the last 5 years which saw Sam be an integral part of four successive promotions.

As such the club are now looking to recruit a new goalkeeper for this season.

Wheelwright are a long established (74 years) team who play in Division two of the Yorkshire Amateur league (formerly the Yorkshire Old Boys League).

Fixtures are played on Saturday afternoons kicking off at 2:30pm.

Home games take place at Thornhill Cricket club usually followed with food and drinks in the club house afterwards.
