This week, Warwick 1s took on Nottingham 3s for the 3rd time this season. With a new addition to the team: Lucy Robinson, and fabulous coaching support on the bench from Tamsin and Ffion, the girls were looking to have a really strong start. The target for the 1st quarter was to bring up a fantastic goal difference and maintain a calm and collected head when bringing the ball through court and feeding into the D. After a superb start the girls were up 17-4.

Going into the second quarter, the girls had a nice buffer in terms of goals but the hard work was far from over. Robinson made her excellent debut at centre and rose to the pressure beautifully. Vita also came on after the 1st quarter and her growing confidence was a pleasure to watch.

The defence worked in varying combinations throughout the game with fluidity and confidence with countless interceptions from Hannah, Riley and Holly and pressure being applied to Nottingham’s attacking feeds by Ocean. Sketch’s feeds in continued to be accurate and reliable, and Lauren and Vita’s movement in the attacking D was seamless.

A fantastic start by the 1s after Christmas, everyone should be proud of their performance and look to build on it in the coming important weeks. The final score being 52-31.
