Underwood Villa FC 1 of 4

1. Welcome

Underwood Villa FC is a fast growing football club and whilst the football club has been in Underwood since the 1940’s, the youth teams began in 2004/2005 with two teams at Under 9’s and Under 8’s playing in the Mansfield Youth League and Kickstart leagues respectively.

In 2004/5 the club was awarded the The FA Charter Standard Development Club award. Followed in 2005/6 with the club becoming Nottinghamshire FA Charter Standard Development Club of the year and also the Regional FA Charter Standard Development Club of the year.

The size of our club has expanded greatly and from the two youth teams and Adults team in 2004/5, the 2010/11 season saw us with 10 youth teams along with the Adults team. An achievement that the committee are immensely proud of. 2010 season saw us welcome to our club our first ever girl’s team playing at Under 13’s age group we are extremely pleased to have them on board.

Our youth teams play their football across four leagues within Nottinghamshire, Mansfield Youth League, Notts Girls and Ladies league, Young Elizabethan League and Kickstart Youth Football League. The adults team currently playing the Notts Senior League.

The club currently has over 150 children registered to play, with a team of in excess of 20 club officials.

Our staff and club officials, Managers and Coaches are all volunteers who willingly give us their time to enable us to fulfil our mission statement of “Encouraging the development of football for all within the local community”.

Staff endeavour to reflect this statement and the aims of the club in all our work within Underwood Villa FC

Staff value the competitive nature of football, whilst striving to ensure that the boys and girls at the club enjoy their involvement in football.

All staff are CRB checked through the FA approved system and abide by the FA Child protection policies and procedures, the FA Code of Conduct and the Equal Opportunities and Anti-discrimination policy. It is our aim to have every team coach achieve at least FA Level 1 qualified.

As well as developing good football skills and techniques we believe that, for anyone taking part, many life skills can also be learnt and nurtured through involvement with football at Underwood Villa FC.

As part of the club’s policy we welcome comments and feedback as well as new ideas and support.

Volunteers are essential to the running and progress of the club – please volunteer your help in anyway you can. If anyone is able to assist with any part of the running of the club please speak with your team manager.
