Congratulation to our own Steve Warner who has been a dedicated member of our Cricket Club for a great many years.

Dear Cricketers,

I am thrilled to share this good news.

Our Steve Warner, has been awarded the Lifetime Achiever Award, under the ECB Grass Roots Cricket Awards 2023, for his long services at Trafford MV C C . Please join us in congratulating Steve for this fantastic recognition.

Steve is one of only two achievers from Cheshire county to be awarded this year. This is a proud moment for Trafford MV and for all of us. Steve has been at the club for a lot longer than most of us can imagine. He has been a witness to the club's transformation over the decades and contributed ably. This award is a testament to his voluntary services. He is around at the club, not just to play or manage the grounds, but regularly lending a hand to the bar staff to tidy up our patio area, selflessly. As a cricketer, he is a great guy to have in your team as an all rounder, who can keep the wickets as well. He is on a roll with the bat this season and we are only in mid-season. So a lot more cricketing statistics to come from Steve. His services and support to the underprivileged kids of Westmoreland CC in Jamaica, has been in discussion on our WhatsApp group this week. Steve’s initiative gives many of us an opportunity to contribute to the cause.

I am sure most of you have experienced and enjoyed his welcoming nature, when you joined the club and his continued friendship. Personally, I am glad to have met and known Steve and his cheerful chirpy spirit. He has been a wise counsel to me, whenever I have needed advice & support in my current role at the club.

If you don't know this already, Steve (and Callum), voluntarily managed our cricket ground in the 2020 and 2021 season when we didn’t have a groundsman. This season Steve has volunteered to help Malcolm with the groundsman's tasks. During the April-June months, we had about 4-5 matches every week as well as All Stars and Dynamo coaching. Steve has shouldered a large responsibility to ensure all these matches and coaching take place smoothly. Whilst Malcolm was away on a break, Steve managed the complete ground management. I should add here that there are few players from our club, who quietly chip in and assist Malcolm and Steve. I take this opportunity to thank them for their services.

This Lifetime Achiever award is a recognition that Steve richly deserves. The award will be presented to Steve at an Awards ceremony at the Lancashire Cricket Club, Old Trafford on 11th August 2023 and he will be a honorary guest to watch the Royal London Match between Lancashire vs Leicestershire Foxes.

Well done Steve!!
Thank you for all your services!!.
