Third time lucky...

After a massive victory against high-flyers Barnsley last weekend at home, we are back at Coulman Road for our rearranged game with Wetherby for the second of the two lives game at home this weekend. We last saw the Red & Whites in mid-November in the second round of the Yorkshire Silver Trophy, where a narrow 27-23 victory meant our cup run carried on strongly. Tries from James Fenwick, Stuart Hughes, Aden Smith and Luke Marsden saw a big pack performance once again. When it came to the league this season, Wetherby took the spoils at their place 28-21, where tries from A.Smith, M.Moffat and A.Holt weren't enough to made up for a slow start rom the 'Ensians, something I'm sure Coach Pearce will be looking to enforce this time round.

In recent years, Wetherby have been a regular fixture for Thorne, sharing the points on numerous occasions, but arguably the most important victory going to Thorne in the promotion year of 2015/16 when we saw off Wetherby in the Yorkshire Silver Trophy Final at West Park Leeds to raise the silverware and march on to our Road to Twickenham campaign in the 2016/17 season. This weekend we look to welcome Mr Graham Rackshaw back to the club, who's previous visit resulted in a pulled hamstring while officiating the Wetherby game earlier in the season in the Yorkshire Silver Trophy, being replaced by our own Owen Taylor.

The Development XV have a week of this weekend but begin their Uniplex Bowl campaign against Wortley on Wednesday night (more info to follow soon).
