The Mead Travel South looking for progress

The Mead are back in action as we take the weekend off BOSTIK League action to head back on the “March to the Arch” this weekend.
But our travels have us heading for the South coast and Portsmouth rather than the Arch in North West London, with six thousand reasons to be hopeful for success and a place in Monday’s draw for the Second Qualifying Round.
The draw has us facing MONEYFIELDS FC who are affiliated to the Hampshire FA. They were founded as Portsmouth Civil Service before adopting their current name in 1994, and the club is currently members of the Southern League Division One South and plays at the Moneyfields Sports Ground.
The home side will be looking to match the furthest the Club has ever gone in the Greatest Cup Competition in the World by reaching the Second Qualifying Round for the third time.
For The Mead, of course, victory will not only seal a Second Qualifying Round birth for the third season running but will also give the Chairman a much- needed financial boost of £6,000 in prize money.
The Gaffer will be looking to build on that amazing nine-goal thriller at Princes Park against Sittingbourne last weekend and a win in Hampshire will be the Mead’s third triumph of the season and victory at the home of HMS Victory will be a Mead win for the third successive win on a Saturday afternoon.
For those travelling the full details of the ground for the “Sat Nav” is as follows Moneyfields Ave, Copnor, Portsmouth, PO3 6LA
Please note that any replay will be at Princes Park on Wednesday evening at 7:45 pm which will see our First Round Velocity Trophy tie with BOSTIK Premier side MERSTHAM postponed. It must also be remembered that the Velocity Trophy tie will also be called off if Merstham’s Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round tie with SCEFL side Cray Valley PM requires a replay.
