History

Temple University Women's Rugby Football Club (TUWRFC) was founded in 1995. The team is one of 28 sports clubs managed by Campus Recreation. Unlike intramural sports, sports clubs are competitive sports teams that play against other colleges. The women's rugby team provides an excellent opportunity for those athletes who wish to remain physically active and competitive while at Temple University.

Our season consists of league play in the Fall Semester with National Playoffs in the Spring Semester. In recent years, Temple Women's Rugby has succeeded at the highest of levels. The club won the EPRU Collegiate Division II playoffs in 2004, 2005, and 2009. In 2005 and 2010, they were MARFU Division II Collegiate Champs. Temple Women were National Champions for Division II in 2004, and National Runner-Up's in 2005 and 2010.

Temple Women's Rugby is a great way to meet new friends and create long lasting relationships. There are no try-outs and experience is not necessary. Everyone and anyone is welcome to come out and give this wonderful sport a try and see if is right for you. In the Spring 2010 Semester, the team traveled to Florida and California.

Temple Women's Rugby practices two times a week from 8-10pm on "the Oval" which is located at 15th and Montgomery. We hope to see you soon!
