1972 – 1979

Sussex Open Division 1 (M1)
No real details here however we captured the Sussex Division 1 title in the 1976/77 season.
There is no ladies league history on the Sussex site for these years

1980-1989

Sussex Division 2 (Men’s 1) 82/83 & 85/86
Two triumphs in the 80’s as our Men’s 1sts won promotion twice to Sussex Division 1 in the pre Open League days

1990-1999
Home Ground: Shoreham Power Station & King’s Manor from 1996

Sussex D2 Winners (M1) 91/92 Sussex Open D2 Winners (M3) 96/97, Sussex Plate Runners Up 98/99 (M1), Sussex Veterans Cup Winners 91/92 (MV)
Our Men’s 1sts captured the Sussex Division 2 league in 1991/92 and we captured the inaugural Sussex Vets cup trophy in the same year. Our Men’s 3rds picked up their first ever honours in the newly formed Sussex Open League Div 2 winning that in 1996/97. We reached our first ever plate final in 1999 but lost in this to Horsham.

2000-2002

Sussex Open D4 winners (M4) 2001/02, Sussex Open Prem Div runners up (M1) (2001/02)
These 3 seasons are not included on Fixtures Live however we had some success with a 2nd place in the premier div from the mens 1sts they would win the league the season after and a victory in the 4th Div for the Mens 4ths the same season

Sussex Open Premier Division Champions (M1), Sussex Open D3 Champions (M4)
Men’s 1sts (Cpt - ) Win promotion to the Kent/Sussex Regional league winning 19 of 20 matches and finishing top of the Sussex open premier Division scoring over 100 goals.
Men’s 2nds (Cpt - ) Finish 8th in the Sussex Open Division 1 in a pretty average season
Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) Finish 8th of 11 in Division 2 staying up
Men’s 4ths(Cpt - ) Also league winners in this year winning Division 3 winning 13 of 18 matches and joining our 3rds in Division 2 for the new season
Ladies 1sts (Cpt –) Relegated in 8th place (2nd bottom) of Div 1
Ladies 2nds (Cpt –) 7th place in Div 4 in a pretty noteworthy season

Men’s 1sts (Cpt - ) Finish a respectable 8th in their new league the Kent/Sussex regional and runners up in the Sussex knockout plate losing out to Horsham
Men’s 2nds (Cpt - ) A super season as they cruise to victory and promotion in the Sussex Open Division 1 winning promotion to the Sussex Premier Division
Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) Finish 8th of 11 in Division 2 for a 2nd consecutive season
Men’s 4ths (Cpt - ) The 4ths survived in Division 2 after promotion finishing 9th 5 pts behind the 3rds
Mens 5ths (Cpt-) The newly formed Men’s 5ths finished bottom of the whole Sussex league system 11th in Division 3
Ladies 1sts (Cpt –) Having been relegated to Div 2 a 4th place finish does not take them back up
Ladies 2nds (Cpt –) Nearly go up but finish 3rd in Div 4

Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) Championship year winning Div 2 only losing once all season
Men’s 4ths (Cpt - ) Finish 7th in Div 2 seeing the 3rds win the league
Mens 5ths (Cpt-) Win the Sussex wooden spoon but win 3 games
Ladies 1sts (Cpt –) Promotion to Div 1 for the 1’s finishing 3rd in Div 2
Ladies 2nds (Cpt –) Mid table in Div 4 for the 2nds

Men’s 1sts (Cpt - ) Highest ever league finish for the men’s 1sts coming in 4th in the Kent/Sussex in a super season
Men’s 2nds (Cpt - ) A pretty torrid season for the 2nds they let in 110 goals as they are relegated from the premier div in 12th place
Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) The break up of last years championship team leads to an immediate relegation back to Div 2
Men’s 4ths(Cpt - ) Disbanded due to lack of players relegated to Div 3 and league record expunged
Mens 5ths(Cpt-) Last season for the 5ths as they lose 23 of 24 games and concede 137
Ladies 1sts (Cpt –) Finishing 8th after promotion to Div 1 and consolidating their position
Ladies 2nds (Cpt –) 6th in Div 4 again a pretty unremarkable season

Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) Also fail to go back up with a 5th placed finish
Men’s 4ths(Cpt - ) It’s bottom of the Sussex system for the 4ths as they struggle
Ladies 1sts (Cpt –) Tough season for the ladies as they just stay in Div 1 in 8th
Ladies 2nds (Cpt –) 5th place in Div 4 for the ladies 2nds comfortably mid table

Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) Mid table 6th place for the 3rds in Div 2
Men’s 4ths(Cpt – Roger Harris) Avoid the Sussex wooden spoon finishing 10th in Div 3
Ladies 1sts (Cpt –Fiona Youngman) Annus Horriblus for the 1sts they are relegated from Div 1 scoring only 8 goals and without a win drawing 2 and losing the other 16
Ladies 2nds (Cpt –Paula Tanner) Can’t improve on last year come 5th again in Div 4

Men’s 1sts (Cpt - ) Disappointment in the league as a 9th place finish sees them just relegated back to the Sussex Open League. They also make the Sussex Plate final but lose out to Worthing 1sts
Men’s 2nds (Cpt - ) Finish 9th in the premier div and stay up
Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) 8th place in Div 2 for the 3rds in an unremarkable season
Men’s 4ths(Cpt - ) Bottom of Div 3 and the whole Sussex league season with just 2 wins
Ladies 1sts (Cpt –) Having been relegated the 1sts battle to 4th but can’t win promotion - they do win the vase though
Ladies 2nds (Cpt –) Another season flirting with promotion ends in 4th place in Div 4

Men’s 1sts (Cpt - ) Playing in the new Sussex Area Division a 3rd place finish is not enough to see them back into the Kent/Sussex set up
Men’s 2nds (Cpt - ) 8th Place in the Premier Div should have kept them up but relegated due to league restructure at the end of the season
Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) 7th in Div 2 although relegated due to season end restructure
Men’s 4ths(Cpt - ) The 4ths finished 9th in Div 3 and were relegated to the new Div 4
Ladies 1sts (Cpt – Leanne Buxton) Promotion for the Ladies 1sts going up from Div at 2nd attempt they also retain the Vase
Ladies 2nds (Cpt – Paula Tanner) Final season in charge for Paula as she leads the 2nds to 3rd in Div 4

Men’s 1sts (Cpt – Jamie Bird) A League restructure (Premier Div abolished) means the 1sts start life in Division 1 and an exodus of players means an 8th placed finish
Men’s 2nds (Cpt – Brian Thompson) The 2nds are dropped to Division 2 after the league restructure and only just survive finishing 11th out of 12
Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) It’s division 4 for the 3rds and a 9th place finish just staying up
Men’s 4ths(Cpt - ) The final season for the 4ths a lack of players sees them lose all but one of their games in Division 4 conceding 11 finishing bottom of the whole Sussex league structure
Ladies 1sts (Cpt – Leanne Buxton) A solid season as they finish 4th in Div 1 after last year’s promotion
Ladies 2nds (Cpt – Mel Murrell) Champions! The 2nds top Division 4 and earn a promotion in Mel’s first season as captain. They then do the double winning the Sussex Ladies Shield!

Men’s 1sts (Cpt – Jamie Bird) Best points total of the men’s sides with 7 but also finish bottom of Division 1 and suffer relegation
Men’s 2nds (Cpt – Brian Thompson) Can’t survive again and get 5 points conceding 104 goals finishing last in Div 2
Men’s 3rds (Cpt – David Brampton) Also suffer a relegation season winning just 2 games ending bottom in Div 4 and only 6 points
Ladies 1sts (Cpt – Leanne Buxton) A strong season sees them finish 3rd in Div 1
Ladies 2nds (Cpt – Mel Murrell) A great season in their new league Div 3 and they finish as runners up just missing a 2nd straight promotion
Juniors (Cpt – Gary Matthews) 1st ever season for our juniors, they finish 8th of 9 in the East Division
