Whilst this is a volunteer role, coaching kit will be provided and any coaching course support can be discussed with the successful applicant.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  4. Attend all trials, coaching sessions and matches.
  5. Lead the coaching and management of all Ladies fixtures, acting in a manner expected as a representative of the rugby club.
  6. Select the team for fixtures, with the support of the Coaching Team and Team Manager, promoting opportunities for all players within the Ladies squad.
  7. Liaise with the Girls Age Grade Groups in conjunction with grading of Players.
  8. Work with the Girls Age Grade Groups and the Club Coaching Co-Ordinator, as a Coach Mentor to improve their performance and fellow Coaches.

  10. Report on progress, in conjunction with the Team Manager, to Club Committee as appropriate.

The successful candidate should have:

Commitment and Enthusiasm – this position will require a reasonable time commitment involving both evenings and weekends for training and matches during the season.

Punctuality – Coaches set the standard for the Players.

Planning – The Head Coach will work with the Team Manager in planning the coaching programme for the season, as well as individual sessions.

Leadership – Set an example and standards for the squad. As such he/she will need to inspire the players to ensure that they all reach their potential. He/she may need to make difficult decisions about selection, grades, etc.
