SHIREBROOK DROP MORE POINTS DURING RUN IN

ATT 112

MOTM R.Johnson

Shirebrook Town dropped more points during the run in as they drew 1-1 with Knaresborough Town

The team sheet saw two changes from the previous week with Ingram and Oliver Beaumont coming in to make his debut but there was bad new for Shirebrook in the warm up as Wez Hill was injured so Stuart Hill came in for him and Kuncyusz came onto the bench.

The first half was a half of few chances with the closest any team got was Knaresborough putting a shot over the bar but Knaresborough were lucky to finish the half with 11 men after Greenfield was taken out by a horrendous tackle but the ref only saw it as a yellow card offense and again the ref was in the spot light at the end off the half as Currie was sent through 1 on 1 with the Knaresborough keeper and was brought down in the box by the last man however the ref decided it wasn't worthy of a penalty kick to the amazement of most people in the ground.

The second half didn't start much better but Shirebrook finally began to look the team most likely to get the goal but found the Knaresborough keeper tough to beat but they finally got there reward in the 72nd minute when after pin ball in the goal mouth Oliver Beaumont got the final touch to give the home side the lead however Beaumont went from hero to villain 9 minutes later as he game the ball away that lead to Colin Heath leveling the scores However in the last few minutes Shirebrook had another stone wall penalty turned down when the Knaresborough defender threw an arm at the ball however both the ref and the linesman somehow missed it and Shirebrook were left thinking what could have been

Shirebrook are without a game next weekend so they next return to action on the 16th against Glasshoughton Welfare
