Shaw Cross Sharks and Route1 Recruitment & Training are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership that will see Route1 sponsor the Sharks for our anniversary season in 2022.

This club sponsorship deal is the first of it's kind for us and will see the Route1 logo on the polo shirt of every player at the club , as well as three new playing kits.

Club Chairman Brett Turner said of the partnership "This is a big deal for us as a club. It's certainly a record when it comes to the financial side of things and I really can't express how much we appreciate the support of Jonathan at Route1 and also Barbara, who is a member of the club herself. The company, even though it was only formed in 2018 already has a history of supporting the community and I really hope that they realise how much good they're doing."

Club members will get used to the sight of the Route1 logo as we add signage around the club and the ground, as well as our social media posts. We\will also be regularly posting positions that are available with them, so if you're looking for work please keep an eye out on all of our feeds.

Route 1 was formed and started trading in November 2018. The business started by Jonathan Gilbert.

When we asked Jonathan to give us a little insight into the business he said "I like to think of us as not your usual recruitment agency."

The business is run and operated by myself and Barbara Sheriff Steele, primarily working in the temporary and permanent labour market. Our main operations centre houses our recruitment office and our accredited training centre which delivers a range of courses, from Driver CPC to First Aid Training making Route 1 the place for all your recruitment and training needs.

When we asked him why he has chosen to help and support Shaw Cross Sharks, Jonathan told us "We think it’s important to support your community and local businesses. Historically we have been involved in a number of projects that we believe demonstrate a good corporate social responsibility. We were involved in the installation of the defibrillator and the training of local shop keepers in the Birstall Batley Area a couple of years ago.
We have supported a numbers of local projects that have helped local people with local jobs. It would also be fair to say another reason we have got involved in the Sharks, other than we think it’s a great project to be part of, but our very own Barbara’s daughter is involved with one of the teams that the Sharks are developing."
