Great bonus point.

The banana skin that could have been Orrell did not happen and Ruskin commanded this game from the start with several tries being scored in the final quarter.

On a wet and sloppy pitch Ruskin sometimes struggled to keep hold of the ball and if they had, several more try would have been scored. Matt Tindall converted well to the front row in the absence of the bulky Joe Gee, and the Ruskin scrum looked as strong if not stronger than it has all year.

Some flowing rugby born out of some good forward drives saw Farrelly skip over the line for the games first try, converted well by Fogarty.

Orrell played their part with some spirited rugby and hard driving play, but this left them struggling in defence. Sam Hughes constantly piercing holes in the Orrell back line. Karl Jones finally scoring a try deep into the first half.

Half time on this wet miserable day saw the score line at 18. - 3 and Ruskin could sense a bonus point. Strong driving play by Mousley and Livesley constantly kept Orrell from gaining any control on this game

The second half was much the same as the first and the Ruskin team although in total control could not regularly cross the Orrell try line. With 15 minutes to go all the hard work paid dividend and the tries started to flow, Chris and Dave Birch, followed by Tom Tindall and then Fogarty and Hughes a fantastic end to a hard fought game.

Some Ruskin players play well every week and constantly provide strength to this team. Hall, Owen, Howden, Lyon to name a few. The belief in the team recently is emphasised by the excellent rugby being played by everyone the fact that Ridgeon can slot straight back into the side in the absence of the injured O'Keeffe. Tress, O'Hare both returned strongly from injury to stamp their authority for selection.
