Player Insurance

Ratoath RFC are members of the IRFU Compulsory Insurance Personal Accident Scheme, which provides compensation following accidental bodily injury to any duly elected member of an Insured Club whilst as a Player (not under 5 years of age), Coach, Touch Judge, Referee, Referee Inspector, Selector, Official Doctor, Official Masseur or Official Officer.

Club members should familiarise themselves with the details of the scheme to understand the extent of cover. Details of the scheme can be found by clicking here.

Additional cover is the players responsibility. Details of the IRFU/AON "Additional Personal Accident Cover For Individuals" scheme can be found by clicking here. Enquiries relating to additional cover for individuals can be made directly to AON at (01) 2666400.

Please visit the IRFU Insurance page here.

Finally, Ratoath RFC also recommends that school-going players take the option of joining a Schools personal accident scheme, where available, that covers the player out of school hours and outside school activities. The cost of these schemes is usually very reasonable, and they usually cover a wide range of injuries. In some schools these schemes are compulsory. Players or their parents should check what their school's scheme covers and whether they are members of it.
