Longhurst reflects on a successful weekend

Obviously nice to wake up Sunday with three points , i thought we deserved to win the game as both teams had chances we took ours and they didn’t take theirs which was down to our goalkeeper firstly doing his job and the whole group making good defensive decisions, the front players were the difference for us Luke Carey , Ashley Miller and Josh Ajayi all had a big impact on the game scoring and being a constant threat . As debuts go the three lads Josh , Jacob and Luke all had a positive impact on the group and team and their influence in the game helped us too a big three points .

The squad had no fewer than nine players twenty two and under and only Ryan Johnson and Lee Prescott over thirty which is great moving forwards . We had George ,Sobechi and Theo all get more time yesterday which is fantastic for the future of the club and squad these players will benefit from this involvement and are always learning each week in training and games.

I’m delighted with the win , there’s loads to improve on of course and we are far from where I want us to be as a team and squad but it’s a start and something to build on , it was great to see so many many of you travel to burgess hill and the vocal support was greatly appreciated let’s hope for more of the same Tuesday night .

Tuesday is a tough game we should welcome back one more player for that game and also aim to make another addition as well if possible in an area we need to improve we have a few irons in the fire and hopefully we can get that over the line prior to the game .

See you all Tuesday night
