Title chase goes down to the final game.

Radcliffe Olympic First Team defeated Beeston 4-2 away on Saturday in a critical match in which they needed to bring injured players off the bench to get the win and gain promotion to the NSL Premier Division. In doing so they have lost just 3 games out of 30 all season, scored their 100th goal of the season on Saturday and have conceded the joint least number of goals in the division this season.

When the management team of Joe Hegarty, Dave Hignett and Chris Norris, who were joined later by Josh Meek took over, their aim was to win promotion to the Premier Division and in their first full season uninterrupted by Covid restrictions they have achieved this. Full credit to them for achieving their goal, but this would not have been possible without a great group of committed players who have given everything for the cause along with great support from Chairman Frank Seyfert and the dedicated group of first team helpers.

They now have one remaining match which is at home against Ruddington this Friday night at the Recreation Ground with a 7.30 Kick Off.

If they win that game they will become N.S.L. First Division Champions. The team are hoping that there will be plenty of support from all sections of the club and village to cheer them on, as this is the first promotion achieved by the Radcliffe Olympic First Team since the 2008-2009 season.

The team will also be holding their end of season presentation in The Royal Oak this Saturday. It will take place between 1.30 and 2.00 before the Forest play off Championship and Cup Final matches which are being shown at the Oak. All supporters, old and new along with all club members and anyone else are all invited to come along and enjoy the afternoon.
