A fairly large crowd of Preston Lodge supporters managed to find their way to a far flung corner of Peffermill to watch their side take on Edinburgh University in the Quarter Final of the SHE Bowl. PL are the current holders of the trophy and competed well for the first half of the game. Unfortunately during the second half the more talented University backs took control and in the end they were comfortable winners.

Although the Uni took the lead after just a couple of minutes from a penalty, PL scored the first try of the game soon after.

A mistake by the Uni inside their own twenty-two gave PL possession. The ball was recycled through several phases before number eight forward Paul Voy crashed over for a try. Greg Kinross missed with the conversion.

Some good defensive work by PL kept the Edinburgh side at bay and they managed to hold on to that lead for twenty minutes. However a converted try just before half-time saw the Uni turn round with a 10 - 5 advantage.

That first half try would prove to be PL's only score of the game and soon the home side, playing by far the better rugby put the result beyond doubt.

They added three tries, two conversions and two penalties to make the final score 35 - 5 to put PL out and themselves into the Semi-Finals.
