Portishead Pirates Netball Club
Club Constitution
Name
The club will be called Portishead Pirates Netball Club and will be affiliated to All England Netball Association.
Aims & Objectives
The aims and objectives will be
•To offer coaching and competitive opportunities in netball
•To offer and promote netball opportunities in the local community
•To promote physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle
•To ensure a duty of care to all members of the club
•To ensure that all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment
•To provide all its services in a way that is fair to everyone.
Membership
All members playing competitive matches will be affiliated to AENA and play by AENA rules.

Members are prepared to accept and support the clubs aims & objectives

All members will be subject to the regulations of the constitution and by joining the club will be deemed to accept these regulations and codes of conduct that the club has adopted.

There shall be a minimum age limit of 18 years.

Membership fees
All members will pay a monthly subscription to the club.

Membership fees will be set annually at the AGM. Fees can be adjusted by the committee.

If new players join during the season then fees will be calculated accordingly.

Match fees will be set by the Treasurer in order to cover court/umpire/scorer costs.
Officers of the Club
The officers of the club will be
•Chairperson
•Vice Chairperson
•Club Secretary
•Treasurer
•Team captain(s)
•Team vice captain
•Other relevant position.
These positions will form the committee.

Officers will be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting in each year and subject to termination of office by resignation, removal or otherwise, the Members remain in office until they or their successors are re-elected or elected (as the case may be) at the AGM following their re-election or election (as the case may be).
Committee
The management of Portishead Pirates Netball Club shall be undertaken by the Club Committee, of which shall hold and administer for the general benefit of Portishead Pirates NC all funds, property and equipment in the general ownership of Portishead Pirates NC.

The Chairperson and the Vice Chairperson shall have discretion to call emergency meetings of the Club Committee if they consider it to be in the interests of the club.

Only the Club Committee will have the right to vote at meetings. If needed the Chairperson will have the deciding vote.

The Management Committee will be responsible for disciplinary hearings of members who infringe the club rules/regulations/constitution. The Club Committee will be responsible for taking any action against members such as suspension or discipline.

Team selection will be decided by the committee and if trials are needed this will take place on a training night.
Funding & Finance
All funds raised on behalf of the club are to be used to achieve the aims and interests of the club.

The club Treasurer is responsible for the finances at the club

A detailed statement showing the clubs expenditure and funding for the year will be provided at the AGM.

The Clubs financial year will end at the end of April.

The funds of the club will be kept in a bank account in the clubs name and all cheques etc will be signed by the Chairperson and one other officer from the club.

Funding for the club will be achieved through
•From the collection of subscriptions from members
•Sponsorship
•Donations
•Loans & grants if necessary
Property
Responsibility of the Clubs property remains with the Club Committee.

Annual General Meeting
Not less than 4 meetings will be held per year and 4 or more Committee members must attend.

Nominations for officers of the Committee will be sent to the Secretary prior to the AGM.

Election of officers will take place at the AGM.

All members are expected to attend the AGM. Everyone who attends has a right to vote, any member not able to attend for a valid reason may vote in writing.
Discipline & Appeals
All complaints regarding behaviour should be submitted in writing to the Chairperson or Club Secretary.

The Management Committee will hear the complaints. The Committee have the power to take disciplinary action if required.

The outcome of the disciplinary hearing should be notified in writing to all persons involved within 14 days of the complaint being heard.

There will be the right to appeal within 14 days.
Dissolution
The decision to dissolve the club will be taken at a meeting within the club, all committee members must attend this meeting.

If the club shall be dissolves than all existing funds and property shall become property of another Club with similar aims and objectives and will be decided by the Club Committee.
Declaration
Portishead Pirates Netball Club hereby adopts and accepts this constitution as a current operating guide regulating the actions of members.
