Penistone Church Ladies FC faced Millmoor Junior Ladies FC for the second time having previously lost 4-1 at the beginning of the season. Church knew this was going to be a tough game after the first meeting with Millmoor but were fully up for the challenge and looking forward to a great game of football.

The game saw Penistone Church new signing KIRK debut who put in a solid performance in defence and helped get the ball up the pitch to MILLER and BRADLEY.
The match started with both sides challenging to take the upper hand with the ball going end to end for much of it. Church's defence along with Two excellent saves from Church keeper STEPHENS was more than equal to the early pressure placed on them. At the end of the first half the score was still 0-0 and all to play for.

HALF TIME: Penistone Church LFC 0-0 Millmoor LFC

The second half kicked off with a bang as Church were determined with their efforts for a goal. They paid off not long after with BRADLEY taking advantage of a super ball from ARIF and putting Penistone in front.

Four minutes later Millmoor could have equalised with a great corner ball but Church Keeper STEPHENS again pulled off an outstanding save to keep the Ladies in front.
Just two minutes later a fantastic cross from newcomer KIRK saw BRADLEY put away her second goal taking the score to Penistone Church LFC 2-0 Millmoor Junior LFC.
Millmoor came back at the Church full force and had three corners in quick succession, the first saved almost off the line with a super header from KIRK, the second and third easily cleared by STEPHENS.

This only spurred Church on more with a shot from GREEN being saved by Millmoor’s keeper and a shot by BRADLEY going just wide of the post.

Church had to show some real character and determination to keep the win, which they fully deserved after some fantastic effort and football from all.
