FOOTBALL PHILOSOPHY & VISION

The Pascoe Vale Football Club intends on setting itself apart from other clubs by providing a learning environment, as a priority, for our young players, to help facilitate the development of 'intelligent footballers'.

We will do this by adopting a Guided Discovery style of coaching which will encourage players to come up with the solutions to the football problem. We would like to produce a team of intelligent footballers, as these are the players that will best implement the Perception - Decision - Execution model.

The Pascoe Vale Football Club has a Playing Style Statement that mirrors that of the FFA and intends to model its junior coaching to achieve this style of play:
A pro-active brand of football, based on effective possession, with the cutting edge provided by creative individuals.

Defensively the key components are quick transition and intelligent collective pressing. The Playing Style is underpinned by a strong ‘team mentality’, capitalizing on Australia’s traditional strengths.

The FFA's Holistic Approach is backed up by the approach Pascoe Vale Soccer Club coaches will take:

The Holistic Approach
Purposeful practice for football is practice that develops the players’ technical and perception/decision-making skills, as well as the required football fitness, in conjunction with each other instead of developing the individual components in isolation.
