Kettering RFC Minis Festival

The team at Kettering took part in 4 games over the morning. There was some good running and passing across the games, with players using two hands to carry the ball and only one forward pass in the entire festival... quite an achievement :)

The first game against Kettering was very close, with kettering just taking it 7-6. The Towcestarians followed, and again another closely fought match ended in a loss for our team 7-6. Unfortunately the team then had to face the Old Scouts (our closest rivals) in the next match. The Old Scouts that had an incredibly good runner and managed to win the third match 9-3.

Our team did not drop their heads though, and with the encourgament of our wonderful management team, faced their 4th and final match with gusto. They faced S&L and managed to win 6-5.... yipeeeeeeee....

All of the 8 players that went to the festival managed to play in a game, they all scored tries and they had an amazing experience...

Big thanks to the coaches for the day - Jamie Evans, Simeon Morgan and Frank Packman :)

Bedford Blues Minis Festival

The team at Bedford had a fantastic first tournament. After a slow start and being caught out a little by some experienced teams, a much needed team talk was given. After that, things just went up and up with the team beating two good sides and making it to the Plate Final (Play Off for 3rd/4th place), with players correcting their earlier mistakes and coming together to play well as a team.

The long morning and warm weather caught up with our boys and unfortunately meant they could not make three wins on the bounce... However, all left with medals and a very credible 4th place finish.... well done to all of the boys for their achievements.

Big thanks to the coaches for the day - Angus Buglass and Graham Harding :)
