History

Oldfield Old Boys RFC was founded in 1950 at which time it had no ground and no clubhouse so was a million miles from the club we all know and love today.

Oldfield is a friendly and welcoming rugby club where the focus is on playing good rugby on the pitch and having a great crack off it. We are a social club and are always looking to recruit new players of any standard, young or old, fat or thin - so if you want to join a friendly, progressive club then you need look no further.

Founder members like Dick Millard worked tirelessly over many years to help the club acquire a bar on the Lower Bristol Road (next to the Green Park Tavern), this eventually generated enough cash for the Club to buy land and build a clubhouse at our current Shaft Road site.

In more recent years a succession of committees have served the club fantastically well and a number of years ago we disposed of the Lower Bristol Road site. This enabled us to focus on developing and investing in Shaft Road, where we now have the best pitches, gym and clubhouse/bar facilities in Bath.
