1. Club Development 1

As many of you are aware, Old Culverhaysians RFC have been pursuing an ambitious scheme to move into a purpose built multi million pound facility at Odd Down Playing fields since 2005.

The club currently finds it difficult to recruit and retain players and no doubt you would have seen by our results we are struggling even to be competitive in our current league, this of course we expect and demand much better at Old Culverhaysians with our short, yet successful history.

Our dedicated committee and in particular Martin Lynch has played a pivotal role in our search to find a permanent playing pitch with our own clubhouse attached and after several years developing and promoting the viability of the hub club scheme, we have now made significant major progress, along with our partners in becoming a lead organisation in the Odd Down Community Hub Club scheme.

A meeting held on Wednesday 25th January with local councillors has given the scheme a green light and 2012 will see major investment and activity on the Odd Down playing fields with new facilities open towards the end of 2012 into 2013. Old Culverhaysians RFC will play a major part in the development and delivery of the Odd Down Hub Club Scheme.

There are still many hurdles to jump, as we recognise as a club we must demonstrate a far stronger structure to our club administration, and there are still very important decisions to be made, however Old Culverhaysians believe this is a great opportunity for the club and surrounding community to be associated with a first class facility for generations to come. This will be a whole new approach to how sport and the facilities are delivered in Bath and with at least £1.6 million already secured in funding we need your help to support and promote the scheme, not only for you and our club, but many other potential users of the scheme.

The Hub Facilities will include:
• A NEW CLUB HOUSE – With male, female and disability changing, a weight training room /gym facility, 1st aid room, large conference and function hall, bar facilities and a meeting room.
• THS SPORTS FACILITIES – Two first class rugby pitches, one with floodlights , football pitches including 2 first class playing pitches, all weather3G grass full size playing pitch with floodlights suitable for both rugby and football, cricket squares, training areas, 1.5KM tarmac competition looped fenced off Cycle track, fitness trail / dog walking trail to boundary of site, Boule Court’s – and much more.

Please see the attached document, which outlines the partner’s collective vision

We will shortly be launching our own dedicated Hub Club website where we will update you on the progress of the scheme, however in the meantime visit our own club website www.oldculverhaysians.co.uk to keep up to date with developments. We will also be displaying updates within the clubhouse.

If you want to get involved in the Hub club or just want to know a little more on this exciting development then please get in touch.

Keep believing

Thanks
