The Ladies 2s were away to Whitley Bay & Tynemouth on a cold but sunny Saturday morning for an early 10am push back the teams both took their sides with North Shields facing the sun. It was a hard battle in the first half with a few chances including a cracker off the post. The first half ended with a questionable decision for a green card resulting with our captain being sent off. The first 35 mins finishing 0-0 with 10 players..
The second half started well with North Shields raring to go. Once the 2 minute green card was up Liv Lawson came on and a few moments later kept calm and took on the keeper and scored an amazing goal. 1-0 to NSHC. The second half continued with many Whitley Bay short corners one resulting in a flick. Willow Williams on the goal line ready. The Whitley Bay player takes the flick and Willow denys the player with an outstanding save. Whitley Bay piled on the pressure and managed to squeeze through the defence and get a goal.
North Shields girls were giving their all but struggling to get the ball in the back of the net. Full time 1-1.
Overall it was a really good game both teams played well and everyone showed some great commitment. Well played !!!
Players of the match went to our super keeper Willow Williams and one of our well deserving right backs Asha Bartoli
