Managers view

I said to the boys before the game that in my opinion we have one of the best squads we have assembled down the club. The bench was as strong as it could be and there were quality players going with the reserves today.
Regardless of all of that, nine of the starting eleven had an absolute nightmare and we gave them five of their six goals and not necessarily due to them putting us under too much pressure.
What I can do now is change the team massively for our trip to Worthing on Tuesday bringing in equally as good players to those who will be dropped, it will then be down to them to keep their shirt by performing to the best of their ability.
The goals we conceded would not be acceptable in youth football, let alone at our level, our back line included our skipper, two others who have played Conference and conference south football but they did not perform nor lead as they should have done. Our midfield three had two players who looked like rabbits in headlights and other than one of the front three we didnt look like penetrating their back line (although we did have a few chances).
One game be it a loss or win does not lose nor win anyone league titles and it may actually work in our favour as the players should use this as a kick up the backside and hopefully put them in a better position to challenge for the points at Worthing.
