First team through to second round of Senior Cup, following a 2-1 win at Hellenic League side Chinnor FC

The 1st team travelled to Hellenic League side Chinnor FC in the first round of the OFA Senior Cup on Saturday, due to player availability on the day, Saints only substitute was interim manager Martin Woodward.
The team started brightly and had there fair share of the spoils, which seemed to rattle the hosts, who were also losing patience with the match officials. But Saints didn't let this get to them and they concentrated on their own game, Nick Beardsmore was playing well in midfield on his debut for the club and looked as if he had played with the team before. It was Saints who broke the deadlock when they were awarded a penalty, which Smudge converted to make it 1-0 to the visitors at half time.
With half the job done the teams came out for the second half and the second half was taking a similar look to the first, with Chinnor more interested in the officials decisions than the game itself. This was only compounded when Saints were awarded a second penalty which was once again converted by Smudge to make it 2-0, Darren Jones also making his debut pulled off a string of saves to keep Saints in the game, but Chinnor finally got a goal back which only proved to be a consolation goal. Chinnor's frustrations got the better of them on the day as they saw two players and the manger giving their marching orders by the referee, but it takes nothing away from the dogged and determined performance the players put on. Their rewards for the victory is a visit to fellow Oxon Senior League team Heyford Atheletic FC, tie to be played on Saturday 28th October.
