A comfortable first half performance see's Saints progress in County Cup.

Saints started the brighter and began applying the early pressure with Daniel "Smudge" Smith causing the OUP defence problems with his running and movement, so it wasn't long before the pressure soon paid off when Owen Harris opened the scoring following a great passing move that opened up OUP. Three minutes later and Saints doubled their lead when Jamie Wilkins fired home from 20 yards, full of confidence saints were playing some nice football and were keeping possession well, then came Saints third when Sam Curtin played in Matty Holton who was brought down by the keeper for the referee (who had a great game) to award a penalty, up stepped Smith to put the ball inside the right hand post. All seemed to be going well when complacency set in and OUP got one back as Lewis 'Macca' McIntyre standing in as GK, was caught off his line just before the break.
Brodie Edmunds was relieved of his linesman duties (for OUP) and came on for Curtin at half time in the only change, OUP also made a change and looked stronger because of it, but Callum Mcmahon and Aaron Long dealt with everything that came their way. Man of the match Daniel Fraser was solid in midfield, with Jae Sharkey also a live wire linking up well with Steve Mundy down the right wing, which led to a "different" challenge from the left back on Sharkey midway through the second half. The challenge left alot to be desired and for some reason their player/manager/lino then got upset about something, which finally resulted in him seeing red from the referee, enter Robert Carlisle as Assistant Referee (again for OUP) and although some of his offside decisions were dubious, he done a good job overall. Jacob Mulvany came on for the injured Matty Holton and added fresh legs to left hand side, to help keep Joel Gill and Shady at bay. Jamie Wilkins then hit another 20 yarder to make it 4-2 to the Saints, Robbie Cooper came on for Mundy and gave Saints another outlet up front. OUP got a late consolation goal but it was a comfortable performance from Saints as they progress to the 2nd round with a 4-2 victory on the road.
