The club would like to place on record its thanks to John Allen and his coaching staff for their efforts since arriving in July. They have worked tirelessly for the club whilst in post.

The process of recruiting a new Manager is now under way and an appointment will be confirmed in due course.

John has provided the following statement:

“It is with profound sadness and disappointment that I announce my departure as Manager of Mangotsfield Utd FC.

I’ve been in football management for 18 consecutive years. Anybody who knows me will know I have devoted my life to the job and have been extremely proud to have represented the clubs I have worked for and the success we have enjoyed along the way.

I truly believed I could bring that here to Mangotsfield. I want to assure the supporters I gave your club the same amount of commitment, working tirelessly to bring the good times back to your club, but some times in life things are just not meant to be. The results have not been good enough and although there are reasons for this, there are no excuses.

I’m very proud to have been Mangotsfield Manager, and I thank the committee for giving me the opportunity to manage one of Bristol’s most prestigious clubs. It goes without saying I wish everyone connected to the club the very best for the future”
