The Brimscombe win proved massive!!

Lydney Town's 2-1 home win against Brimscombe in midweek, proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back for Wantage, who had to win last night's fixture at Roman Glass.
Drawing 0-0 at the break, Glass came out firing in the second period and thumped home 5 goals without reply.
The result means that Town cannot be caught in their last game, against Brimscombe again, and ensures that James Morse's (pictured) boys ensured another crack at level 5 for the 10th consecutive year.

From outside of the club, this doesn't look like something to celebrate, but from inside the club it is massive.
The amount of money in the budget of some of the title contenders each year would shock quite a few supporters. The club does not begrudge the success that the big budgets can bring, but when there is no player budget, to keep level 5 status yet again, is a fantastic achievement.

The younger players, that had to be included on many occasions due to a raft of injuries to senior lads, will have benefited no end, and will be all the better come next season. Youngster Tom Rush's winning goal against Brimscombe has become a little historic!

The club, including the backroom staff, volunteers and supporters, thank James and his team for all the effort it has taken to provide the locals with a decent level of football to watch next season.

Whether James decides to stay on is still up for debate, but whatever call he makes the club certainly owes him a debt of gratitude for the hard work him and his staff put in.
