Prior to the days Cup Match there was the Annual meeting of "The Old Boys" of the Club, arranged by Brian Tynan. As well as having a group Photograph taken outside of the club, there was also a brief talk by ex-professional player, Malcolm Price inside the club just prior to kick off.

Once again Boro started on the defence where a good tackle was made by Mark Murgatroyd. Then Boro threequarters passed the ball along their line resulting in the games early first Try by Jack Whittles and converted by Nathan Coop after only 10minutes. Then soon after, 15minutes, with much pressure applied the opposition crossed the line for their first Try and converted to equal the score line. This was followed with a good tackle from Mathew McCormick when opposition in Boro’s half again almost over the try line. This was followed with a long delay for attention to an injury and when the game recommenced Jake Castree made a good break and continued by winger Adam Wayne. Now Boro were up in opponents 25metres and a great break followed by that man, Jake Castree to score Boro’s 2nd Try and again converted by Nathan Coop, to regain the lead. Yet another good attacking run from winger Wayne was followed with a further Try for Boro by their opposite winger Liam Lloyd and again converted by Coop despite very strong wind blowing on the day. When opposition tried to hit back Boro’s Chris Kolbuck made a strong tackle leading to Boro gaining more running space but unfortunately, just before half time the opposition gained the ball and crossed for their second converted Try, to make the half time score 21pts to 14pts.

Second half kick-off was collected by Mathew Goldthorpe who made a fantastic elusive break to immediately cross the line for Boro’s 4th Try, again converted by Nathan Coop, what a start to the half. Now Boro started to interchange players, Sam Dickinson off and Joss Ellidge on whilst the ball was kicked forward by the visitors and collected by Coop to make a good run forward. Who then followed with a successful converted penalty to make the score 31pts to 14pts. Again, referee stopped the game whist an arm injury to Kolbuck was attended to and continued to play on. This was followed with another break by the visitors for a further converted Try and at this point Boro again made one or two player changes. Then again Boro worked their way downfield and collected yet another successful penalty by Coop. Then a breakaway by visitors resulted in a freekick to touch and was followed by Boro’s Andy Walton returning the ball back in opposition half with a good
kick to touch. This was followed with a good loose ball won by Wayne and shortly after was complemented with a late great Try by Mark Murgatroyd, to make the score at this point in the match, 39pts to 21pts. This was followed by good defensive tackling by the full Boro team, that was until the visitors eventually broke through via their winger for their final Try. Almost at the end of play when Boro made yet another brilliant attacking run finalising in Captain Chris Park being tackled but managing to pass the ball to support player, Jack Whittles to score the final days Try and once again conversion from Nathan Coop.

This was a most welcome positive result from Boro who as a team stepped up a great deal to produce some brilliant rugby which was generally thought was possible, having suffered a couple of defeats. For his continuous positive play, including determined defensive tackling , Boro’s "Man of the Match" went to Chris Kolbuck.
