Lismore RFC and IPCSC

Lismore RFC and its partner clubs Edinburgh South Cricket Club and Edinburgh South Football Club have come together to create a community sports club in Inch Park (Inch Park Community Sports Club) to cater for all ages of the community of South Edinburgh with improved sports facilities catering for rugby, football and cricket, the site will also provide a community social space available to the wider community and local schools.
Their shared vision is to become a multi sport club providing sports activity and social welfare to all those young people and adults in the South Edinburgh area who wish to become involved in sports at whatever level of involvement ( player, volunteer or spectator) and be part of a very special club development for the community.
Bringing together the various clubs will help the IPCSC realise a membership of over 550 members made up of c420 participants and around 130 volunteers who will administer, coach, officiate and maintain facilities for the community of South Edinburgh.
Inch Park is traditionally an important provider of sports facilities for the Edinburgh South area but in recent years has been the subject of vandalism, through fire, to its main pavilion and flood prevention works carried out by City of Edinburgh Council. The project has seen the reinstatement of the facilities and sport to the area with the site being handed over to the IPCSC on an 80 year lease basis.

The proposals include:
·Allowing participants to develop at their own pace and level ·Include local businesses and school use of the facilities ·Include all sections of the community who want to take part in the activities of the club
·Develop healthy lifestyles for the local community
·Provide lifelong learning and personal development opportunities ·Create a social, as well as sporting, hub for the community
The project is now taking it’s first steps to becoming a reality, with the new facility completed in August 2011,
The next phases are to redevelop the pitch facilities on the site.

Cricket, football and the rugby second pitch development started in September 2011 and are almost complete.
The main rugby pitch in was prepared and seeded in the summer of 2013, is now ready for further drainage work (Sandslitting), and the rugby club is fundraising for new rugby posts and protectors etc. We hope to be ready to use the pitch by September 2014
