NO PROBLEM! Most Colonials had never played American football before they came to university. We have coaching staff that can teach you all of the fundamentals and rules of the game relatively quickly. Then as you continue, you will gain experience and a better understanding of the game, with those around you there to help you learn until you are ready to play in our first game in early November.

WILL I GET IN THE TEAM?

American Football teams are very large, with each player playing a vital role depending on abilities. We try to make sure that each player gets a chance to show their stuff on the field in an area suited to them. Unlike a lot of other sports, we do not have a trial as such, and no players are turned away

NOT A LINCOLN UNIVERSITY STUDENT

If you are currently not a student at the university of Lincoln, then you can join our big brother, the Lincolnshire Bombers , they welcome anyone above the age of 18 regardless of experience whether or not you are a student.

WHAT ABOUT THE EQUIPMENT?

As you can imagine, a new set of American football equipment can be very expensive. That is why as a part of your membership fees you will get all the playing equipment that you need rented to you for the year. It is all checked to ensure it is safe to use by those in charge

OK, HOW DO I JOIN?

The easiest way is to come to one of our training sessions. You will need to bring comfortable running gear and suitable footwear for training on the sports centre’s artificial turf. If you miss the first session, don’t feel like you can’t join us later, as we are always looking for new players all year round!

I’M NOT REALLY INTERESTED IN PLAYING, ANYTHING ELSE I CAN GET INVOLVED IN?

Certainly! We are always looking for volunteers to help out on game days. We can offer you free food and the NFL games on Sundays after our match days at our sponsors. If you are just looking to watch the NFL with like minded individuals, then you may want to become an associate member, for a small charge you’ll get the same benefits as volunteers, except after game food.
