STATEMENT: Emirates FA Cup Replays

Lancaster City FC join with clubs across the football pyramid in condemning the actions taken this week by The FA and the Premier League.

The FA Cup sees over 700 clubs from all levels compete in the oldest cup competition in the world.

At non-league level, the magic of the FA Cup and the dream of a cup run excites fans and players season-on-season and just as significantly, provides the chance of a significant source of income. Replays from the first round proper have been taken away without consultation with the wider football community.

We join with the huge number of EFL and non-league clubs in asking the Football Association to suspend this decision until a full consultation has taken place with all the affected stakeholders.
