History

Formed in 2010 by the former committee and members of Surrey Athletic and Knaphill FC "A" & "B" Teams, Knaphill Athletic Football Club was created to provide participation football at all levels throughout the intermediate and junior levels of adult football.

Based at Waterers Park in Knaphill, the clubs first season in 2010/11 saw three sides compete in the Guildford & Woking Alliance League, with the club making an instant impact. The first team reached the final of the GWAFL Premier Cup, while also going on a 17 game unbeaten run which saw them finish fourth in the league and make the quarter finals of the Surrey County Cup, while the Reserves and "A" Team earned respectable mid table positions. Success off the pitch soon followed, with the Acorns earning the honour of becoming a Charter Standard Adult Club.

The 2011/12 season saw the first and reserve teams competing in the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western), while the "A" Team were joined by a "B" side in the Guildford and Woking Alliance.

Season 2012/13 saw the club merge with Knaphill Wanderers, a long-standing and well respected youth and girls setup, giving us 20 sides from U7's right through to adults bearing the Knaphill Athletic FC name across both Saturdays and Sundays.

In October 2012, the club picked up the top award in the 11 to 15 category and received a cheque for £3,000 in the P&G / Surrey Advertiser Community Matters scheme which supports community groups promoting sport and recreation for children and young people up to 18.

In June 2014, after much hard work off the pitch, the club took another step forward when we were awarded FA Charter Standard Community Club status recognising our achievements in providing a safe and competitive football environment for local youths.
