KIRKLEY & PAKEFIELD FC 0 MILDENHALL TOWN FC 1

Last Saturday witnessed the final home league match of the season at Walmer Road for Kirkley & Pakefield FC when they welcomed the season’s new Thurlow Nunn Premier Division League Champions in Mildenhall Town. The ‘Royals’ were largely unchanged apart from their reliable ever-present central defender Harry Creamer who was away on a stag weekend with Jay Barbor returning to the side. In a dull first period it was Luke Butcher who had the first real shot on goal saved by home keeper Alex Blowers this was not until 33minutes and the teams went in goal less at the interval. Shortly after the restart Cameron Russell should have put the home team ahead when failing to capitalise on a one on one with the keeper, it was Mildenhall who took the lead on 54 minutes after scrappy play led to a simple tap in by Jarid Robson. On the hour mark the ‘Royals’ were reduced to ten men after Keenan Hutchings was shown his second yellow of the afternoon, on 62 minutes Mildenhall’s Alfie Connor had a fine shot brilliantly tipped over by keeper Blowers. Although the ten men ‘Royals’ kept pressing until the final whistle they were unable to pull the goal back, resulting in the league champions returning home with a slender one goal win.

In their final fixture of the Anglian Combination Division 1 league season last Saturday the ‘K&PFC Reserves’ were away at Fakenham Town Reserves and recorded a fine 3-2 win for a mid-table finish.

The ‘K&PFC U23s’ also played their final match of the season last Saturday at home to Kessingland FC and with a very young team went down 3-2.

The K&PFC U18s concluded their season last Thursday evening with a 4-0 win against Beccles Town with goals from Harvey Chapman, Finley Dale, Andre Dowe and Ethan Forsdicke.
