LooseHeadz - mental health friendly rugby club

Becoming a mental health friendly rugby club – our partnership with LooseHeadz

KCHRFC has partnered with LooseHeadz – rugby’s leading mental health charity – to ensure we are a mental health friendly rugby club.

Many of us face challenges in our lives and part of being in a rugby club is knowing that you don’t have to face them on your own.

Through our partnership various team members have been trained in LooseHeadz ‘prevent, promote, educate, signpost’ method to help us invest in our mental health, spot when people are having a hard time, and know how to connect them with the support they need.

Our partnership involves:

  • Training for club members wanting to become a LooseHead – a mental health lead within the club
  • Access to a 24/7 text line to connect with fully trained mental health volunteers in association with ‘shout 8258’. Members at the club can text the word ‘Rugby’ to 85258 to speak to a trained volunteer day or night.
  • Access to the Govox mental health wellbeing platform
