An entertaining game at the Autonet Insurance Stadium ended in a goal fest as the two sides shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw.

Ruben Wiggins-Thomas scored in both halves and James Butler scored his first for the club in this pulsating game.

There was five goals in 17 first half minutes with the first coming just before the 30 minute mark.

Cody Prior opened the proceedings for Sheffield as a loose ball wasn’t dealt with by the Grove midfield and he drove forward and his shot just nicked inside the post.

Wiggins-Thomas then equalised as Josh Lundstrams cross caused confusion in the box and he was there to rifle home at the back post.

Rieves Boocock then gave the Yorkshire side the advantage a few minutes later after good interchange between the front line was finished off as Boococks shot deflected past Kieran Harrison.

The Grove then thought they were heading into the interval level after Butler scored his first for the club after Sheffield failed to clear their lines, and his neat swivel in was expertly placed in the bottom corner.

However, with the last kick of the half, Boocock beat the offside trap running through the defence and slotted home ; doubling his tally.

Excellent travelling by Richard Duffy through the Sheffield defence led to a ball over to Rhys Thompson who expertly drove the ball across the box for Wiggins-Thomas to double his tally and level the game.

Both sides had a case for penalties to be awarded to them, but none were given throughout the game.

Lundstram was adjudged to have dived in the box and was booked for the offence. Whilst Sheffield had two claims waved away after Harrison clashed with their front line.

The Grove are next in action in two days time as they welcome Market Drayton Town in the Integro Sports Cup.
