The young athletes cross country team have completed a successful Cross Country season.

The junior athletes completed the cross country season on a very muddy and soggy course at Aldersley, Wolverhampton. The club picked up a small number of trophies to reward the efforts in training and the races and I am sure we can build on the results of this season in future years.

The day started with the U17 women again producing a solid team performance to seal a magnificent position of 3rd team overall against other strong well known clubs. Amelia, Mia and Oona showed great team spirit by competing in all 5 races & Iona providing backup incase anyone had an off day or injury.

The U11 boys team slipped down the league a little from mid-season after not completing a full team in the last 2 races. Ben had a very good season, showing steady improvement throughout. After finishing top 10 in the last 2 races he produced a storming run working through to finish 4th on the day and 6th overall.

Nicole showed her experience with this being her 3rd season of racing cross country. She again showed consistency and finished as 3rd overall U13 girl.

The U11 girls team finished a full team in each of the 5 races finishing 6th or 7th team throughout in a very competitive age category. In the final race we had 10 athletes racing and with this level of competition it pushed the scoring 5 to their highest points of the season with our first 3 finishing in the top 25. With half of this team moving up in age group next season this will hopefully give the club an extra 700 to 800 points.

Overall it was a promising season of racing in a very competitive league. With a few more competing athletes to earn valuable points for the club we could move up the league in future years.
