Welfare ran out comfortable winners against last seasons selby league champs .
played in hot conditions kells took 20 mins before they managed to break down the visitors defence .following a succesion of corners craig fradgley eventually picked the perfect cross for centre back pete baker to power home a header.
kells had a lucky escape 10 mins from the break when andy burrows stole in at the far post but saw his effort come back of the upright ,an instinctive stop from danny clough saw welfares lead kept intact .
forwards del pollock and liam crossfield were both unlucky not to add to the scoreline before the break.
early into the second period james hicks saw an effort just go wide of the upright after being set free by pollock .10 mins in kells went 2 up after shaun oldfields cross was turned into his own net by a defender .
5mins later the home side went further ahead this time hicks sent nelson mendonca down the left flank he beat his man before pulling the ball back for andy mills whos first time strike beat the keeper from 18 yds .
kells defence came under pressure for a while but the defence held firm and wethered the storm .
with 15 mins left adam baker scored the goal of the match after passing through six pair of feet oldfield delivered a curling cross for baker to head home.with only 5 mins remaining welfare wrapped things up when a long ball out of defence from mendonca picked out baker in the box who played a neat touch for crossfield who in turn kept his composure to steer the ball wide of the keeper .
