Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Here at Ivybridge Rugby Club, we fully adhere to the RFU Codes of Conduct and as a club we are immensely proud of what we have achieved. The Directors at the club would like to remind our members and visitors alike, that we are totally committed to safeguarding, and we will not tolerate discrimination, prejudice, oppressive behaviour or inappropriate language in relation to, but not limited to any of the following: race, culture, age, gender, disability, religion or sexuality.

As we continue to grow, we need to ensure that we are totally inclusive and that we continue to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all our members and visitors that come through our doors. To achieve this, we would like of you to reinforce the standards that we expect.

Our Board of Directors always expect the highest standards of behaviour, from our staff, coaches, players, parents and all visitors to our grounds. This commitment also extends to our players, coaches and those supporting Ivybridge when they visit other grounds. We should all remember that we are continuously representing our club, whether this is at home at Cross-In-Hand or travelling to and from grounds, not just at the matches themselves.

We expect all members to challenge inappropriate language or behaviour made by people in the grounds of our club. Such challenges should be made at the time and where you have ongoing concerns then you need to report them to your coach, manager, the safeguarding office or to a senior member at the club. The club has clear policies in relation to safeguarding and where appropriate we will not hesitate to take
positive action.
