6 wickets from Callum Honeyman prevented Conisbrough having any real chance of overcoming the 202 posted in the first innings

As the brief season approached the half way mark, Houghton Main made the journey to the recent unhappy hunting ground of Conisbrough. Captain Brown won the toss and elected to bat. The opening batting roulette wheel made its first appearance of the season with mainstay Brent Law joined by Dan Guest.

Despite struggling so far this season it was Guest who looked to be the aggressor early on, collecting a number of boundaries and also dispatching three free hits he received for four. The pair passed 50 together before some pressure could be built and the pressure told when Guest attempted to pull but was bowled by Jack Roberts for 30, 62 for 1.

Luke Ogden joined the set Law and the pair took the score to 103 before Ogden top edged a sweep to the keeper off Byron Grant. With the platform set, the Houghton batsmen were in danger of wasting it as Law was adjudged LBW for 46 before Connor Fisher was bowled for 17, both off the bowling of Josh Whittaker.

Usman Khan added some impetus making 18 from 12 balls before being caught and bowled for Whittaker's third wicket. Simon Ward joined Callum Honeyman with the score on 148 for 5. With licence to score quickly Ward timed the ball well from the start of his innings. Honeyman was dismissed LBW by Nathan Lovell for 18 but Ward finished unbeaten on 26 from 21 balls including an audacious scoop to fine leg for 4. The Houghton Main innings closed on 202 for 6.

Usman Khan and James Exley continued with the new ball for the visitors. Khan kept his streak of bowling a wide or a no ball with the first ball of his spell alive before settling in and bowling Danyaal Latif for 1. Will Scott joined Ali Ahmed and the pair began to build a partnership. The pair added 40 before a mix up as Scott was easily run out prompting cries of "You do this every week", 46 for 2 the score.

Michael Bates and "the prodigal son" Callum Honeyman were introduced into the attack and were both getting lots of turn from the surface. Honeyman was first to strike, an absolute dream ball, spinning sharply and hitting the top of Jonathan Redfern's off stump. Byron Grant was the new man but he struggled to settle against spin before charging down the wicket in desperation and being stumped by some distance, again off Honeyman. Gary Strephan came and went next ball as he contrived to drag a log hop on to the stumps to take the score to 65 for 5.

Nathan Lovell hit a couple of boundaries off Honeyman and looked to be starting a counter attack, it was short lived however as he tamely chipped to Dan Guest at mid-wicket for Honeyman's fourth. Ali Ahmed's vigil came to an end for 36 with one rolling, trapping him LBW and giving Honeyman a 5-for. After quietly going about his business from the other end, Bates finally picked up a wicket with one that didn't turn and slid through the defenses of Josh Whittaker. As Bates' spell finished, Honeyman replaced him at that end and picked up his sixth, Joe Farmer adjudged LBW, Honeyman finishing with the impressive figures of 8 overs, 6 for 25 to surely be rewarded with a bulging brown envelope. The game was finished by Luke Ogden who bowled Jack Roberts for 5, the Conisbrough innings closing on 109 all out giving Houghton Main their first league victory of the season by 93 runs.
