Matt Stowell joins the Club and will take up first team duties immediately. He will be working closely with Development Team Manager Jez Hodges and Youth Team Manager Ian Lancaster as he familiarises himself with the Club and its players. Expect to see some new faces over the coming weeks as we build up our resources.

Matt, 42, was forced to retire at 26 due to injuries but during his professional playing career played for Reading, Slough, Bristol City, Yeovil and Rushden & Diamonds. During this time he also obtained his EUFA B coaching qualification. He then went on to coach and play Serie D

Since returning Matt has been involved in creating and establishing the Buzz Gym chain in the Thames Valley region but retained a wish to return to coaching to utilise his knowledge, experience and passion for football.
He has recently been involved at Flackwell Heath and now sees the role at HGFC as the perfect opportunity to focus on growing and developing the footballing talent at the Club.
