Club Information


Hall Green United are an amateur football club based in the city of Wakefield, West Yorkshire. They have been an established amateur football club since 1969 and currently compete in the West Yorkshire League. Despite competing in the West Yorkshire League, due to their geographical position they are affiliated with the Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA.
The football club shares it’s ground with Crigglestone Cricket Club and is situated on Painthorpe Lane in the village of Hall Green, Wakefield. The cricket and football club are run through Crigglestone Sports Club. The Sports Club’s committee, called ‘Crigger’ are made of the football and cricket club’s committee, as well as members of the club.
Hall Green United’s committee is currently made up by Kevin Barker (Chairman), Stuart Marsden (Treasurer/Secretary), John Moore(First Team Manager), Martin Scarth(Reserve Team Manager), Marcus Pound (Football Club Development Officer), Andy Barker (Communications Officer), Glenn Callaghan and Neil Scholey.
As well as operating a first and a reserve team at senior level, the club also operates several junior teams, which is run by an independent committee.
The current club captain is Clifton Firth, who is a product of the club's fantastic junior setup. John Moore, the club's current First Team manager is also a junior product who holds the records as the club’s all time leading goal scorer and has made the most appearances for the club since it’s formation in 1969.
